Further up, you will find a 360 degree panorama, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Tessa, Brenta and Ortles Group and the Dolomites and the Sarentino and Ötztal Alps. Hiking in Merano & Environs: Waalwege Paths and Tessa Group
Walking paths in the Adige Valley often follow the ancient “Waalen”. This irrigation system was created centuries ago in order to overcome the drought in the valley. The routes along the babbling brook run through orchards and shady chestnut grooves. Hiking paths in the alpine regions lead to the near Tessa Group Nature Park. The Merano High Mountain Trail surrounds the striking mountain range almost completely. Fantastic views of the Adige Valley and the Passiria Valley are guaranteed on these hikes. Tesimo and Prissiano are called the castle villages in the holiday region Merano & Environs. A total of six castles and fortresses can be visited during your hiking holiday in South Tyrol. Nordic Walking is a modified form of hiking that conquers ever more fans. In the municipality of Verano and Avelengo there are seven Nordic Walking routes with a length between 4 and 11 kilometres, passing through beautiful landscapes.
